Andrea Bocelli, Enrique Iglesias, Lionel Richie and Yanni are among the legendary artists set to perform at Winter at Tantora, the arts and culture festival in AlUla, Saudi Arabia.
Taking place from 19 December to 7 March, the star-studded line-up reveal is hot on the heels of the country’s introduction of tourist visas for selected nationalities. With tickets on sale from early October 2019, Winter at Tantora is pulling out all the stops for its second season, with an exciting schedule of performers from around the world spanning diverse genres, including timeless pop, opera and classical music.
The concerts will take place in the extraordinary setting of AlUla, home to Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site; Hegra. Artists will perform inside the state-of-the-art 500-seat Maraya Concert Hall, which is wrapped in walls of mirrors that reflect the stunning surroundings.
Furthermore, there’s an array of activities and excursions for festival-goers. Highlights include the AlUla Balloon Festival, which calls upon guests to be part of a 100-strong flotilla of hot air balloons at sunrise or indulge in a solo flight at sunset. This is in addition to vintage aircraft flights, the second largest endurance horse race in the world (featuring over 200 riders), culinary experiences curated by Michelin-starred chefs, traditional souks and luxury brand pop-ups. Also, you can embark on tours of ancient sites over 2,000 years-old, which will be brought to life using Augmented Reality (AR) technology.
The event builds on the success of the inaugural festival in 2019, which welcomed over 37,000 visitors from around the world over 10-weeks to sell-out performances by Andrea Bocelli, Yanni, Majida El Roumi and Lang Lang and more. This year’s installment has been extended by two weeks, with over 40,000 visitors expected.
